Larry King, iconic talk show host and self-described 'foremost authority on everything' has passed away. King, the man who wrote the book on how to talk non-stop to anyone, anytime, anywhere, was 87. Cause of death was said to be strangulation. Two of his 6 ex-wives are in custody after admitting that they conspired to choke him to death with his trademark red suspenders. Mr. King had been on television and radio longer than any other person in the history of mass media, some 60 years. "When I first met Marconi, and he told me that he was inventing this new contraption called 'radio', I thought he'd gone daft", he said. "But once it (radio) started to get popular, I thought, 'hey, maybe there's a market for someone to talk and talk and talk and talk and get paid for it!". King was best known for his 25-year run on as the raspy-voice host of Larry King Live. He interviewed thousands of people ranging from Presidents to political figures to religious leaders. Dr. Martin Luther King (no relation) once said of King, "He was a nice enough guy, but jeez, I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I wanted to tell him all about the issue of civil rights and the march to Selma. All he wanted to do was tell me about himself and how knew more about civil rights than I did". Author Gore Vidal, who was interviewed in 1978 said of King, "What a schmuck! I had just written 'LINCOLN', a book about our 16th President and all he did was talk about how he knew Lincoln personally and everything I had written was wrong.". Indera Ghanda, once said of King, I was interviewed by him when our country was going thru one of the darkest periods in our history. We had economic, racial and political problems that were tearing India apart. I wanted to let the world know that we needed help. All that jerk wanted to talk about was his hip operation". And Donald Trump who was interviewed when he was going to be impeached for the 3rd time said, "Larry King was one of the greatest Americans who ever lived". King will be buried in a small flowerbed at the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta. No one is expected to attend his funeral.
